Footings & Retaining Walls
We can construct concrete and block work footings, stepped footings to cope with challenging levels and ground conditions and/or reinforced footings using steel mesh and reed bar,
All the materials we use in the construction are quality tested and assured.
Any solid retaining walls or terracing we construct are erected with the use of weep pipes, and suitable drainage materials are used to infill behind the wall. A poorly built retaining wall without sufficient drainage will trap surface water and over time this will cause weight and pressure to build up and lead the wall to collapse.
Materials we commonly use to in the construction of solid retaining walls include:
- block work ( which can be rendered and painted)
- brick work
- stone
Materials for porous retaining walls and terracing include:
- wooden railway sleepers
- gabion baskets
